Although Bee’s week-to-week focus is on her regular “bread-and-butter” work, in 2016 she returned to a long-standing first love: acting. As a young adult she appeared in numerous plays and toured internationally (the Nordics, Russia, Australia) with the Danish youth music-theatre company Ragnarock.
Alongside her wider creative practice, Bee has over the past nine years taken on occasional screen work as a supporting artist, stand-in and double. This work is fully freelance and fitted around her primary commitments, and she can sometimes be found in her living room, filming the odd self-tape in her spare time.

Occasionally, commercial work emerges, allowing Bee to enjoy being dolled up, pampered, photographed and heavily edited.

In 2008, when Birgitte couldn’t find a safe, practical way to shade her baby in the pram, she designed the SunSnoozer – and in doing so launched herself as an entrepreneur. With support from the British Library’s Business & IP Centre, her kitchen-table idea grew into a limited company; BabyBeamers. The SunSnoozer was featured in the Innovations section at the Olympia baby trade show, stocked nationwide by JoJo Maman Bébé, appeared on BBC2’s Britain’s Next Big Thing, and earned all five-star reviews from parents on Amazon.
